Dog Exercise Areas
Animal exercise areas have been designed to allow owners to exercise their dogs off the lead.
Signage has been placed to identify animal exercise areas, which are located at the following sites:
Franklin Foreshore – Franklin
Area south of the Franklin Bowls Club to the southern most toilet block.
Heron Street – Huonville
Council land between the Huonville Scout Hall and the Huonville Swimming Pool car park.
Kent Beach Road – Dover
Foreshore area from the slipway south to Knobbys Point.
Cygnet Recreation Ground – Cygnet
(Exclusively north eastern corner of ground, bounded by wood chopping area and Agnes Rivulet. Not available when being exclusively used for an event and dogs not allowed on the playing surface of the ground).
Memorial Drive – Geeveston
Council land between the Geeveston Scout Hall and the Geeveston Tennis Club.
Randalls Bay – Randalls Bay
Mickeys Beach end ONLY.
Ranelagh Showground – Ranelagh
Area west of the unsealed section of Elizabeth Street to the western boundary, excluding the area used by the Huon and Channel Kennel Club as dog show arenas.
Shipwrights Point – Port Huon
Regatta Ground, excluding the childrens playground.
Prohibited Areas
Dogs are prohibited at Burtons Reserve.
